SH Plumbing and Heating is the only plumbing and heating company in Peterborough that list all charges. We have an open and clear policy of showing exactly what we charge per hour and they are typical for the industry.
Charges below are all based on normal business hours between 8am and 6pm.
Plumbing Services
charges for plumbing repair £69 per 1 hour (Minimum 1 hour charge applies per visit)
Heating and Gas Services
Standard charge for boiler / gas repairs £79 per 1 hour (Minimum 1 hour charge applies per visit)
Gas Safety Certificate
Fixed price £79
(Based on testing 2 domestic Appliances, any further testing would be charged at £25.00 per appliance) (Minimum 1 hour charge applies per visit)
Gas Boiler Service
Fixed price £79
(Does not cover any additional work or repairs that may be required, these would be quoted for by the engineer and would be charged at the standard applicable hourly rate on top of the original charge)

Out of hours 6pm – 10pm
Plumbing, heating and gas charges, for repairs during theses times £89.00
Sundays and Bank Holidays will be charged as above £89.00 p/h between 8am and 10 pm.(Minimum 1 hour charge applies per visit)
Emergency out of hours call out £120.00
Standard charge for all call outs between the hours of 10pm – 8am Monday to Sunday (1 hour min charge applies) this service is only offered for emergency work, we will aim to be with you in under 2 hours from receiving your call. This service only provides a basic make safe or repair if possible.
We don’t charge a call out fee, but do charge for the time we are on site. The first hour is chargeable then additional hours would be broken into 30 min increments, so you only pay for the actual time we’re at your property. Larger jobs such as upgrades or installations, a written quote would be provided.
We work on the basis that if we come into your home or business and carry out any form of diagnosis or work then the minimum charge will become due.
Business hours are based from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and Saturday from 8am to 1pm
Out of hours is classed as non business hours of Monday to Friday and Saturday morning as above. Sundays, Bank Holidays, Christmas holidays etc will be charged at the applicable rates.(Minimum 1 hour charge applies per visit)
Payment Methods
Payment is made to the engineer on site once the work is completed. Accepted methods include cash, bank transfer and by credit / debit card. We no longer accept cheques unless prior agreement.
Our engineers carry portable chip and pin terminals, that provide a safe secure and convenient way for you to pay in the comfort of your own home, on receipt of invoice once your job is completed.
We accept all major credit and debit cards.
